Day Thirty - Oaro to Cheviot

Good evening everyone, BB brothers have come to the party again! The weather once again came out to greet us. We have now had 3 out of 30 days that has produced rain. Either the weather is following us or we are following the weather!!

Today was another long leg and Cairnsy’s feet are surprisingly holding up due to the great work from Selwyn Bain and our Christchurch podiatrist based adviser Bruce Baxter who has been a massive help. Cheers Bruce!

John the bus man has been a regular walker for the last few days has been a real trooper and shared some amazing stories with us. Thanks to John for keeping everyone company.

As Cairnsy approached Cheviot he was greeted by hundreds of kids waiting for him from Cheviot School. The Vivid was handed to Cairnsy and really think he was more stuffed after signing hundreds of Chris Cairns Foundation Walk flags than what he was after the 32 km leg he had just completed.

Tonight we are staying at the Cheviot Trust Hotel who has kindly donated 3 rooms for us to stay in. We thank you for donating the rooms! Another competitive game of poker was played tonight with Big W (Wayne Wilson) had the poker face on and won the Champion Bracelet with a great had of a pair of threes! Well done Big W!!

Until tomorrow, stay safe.
