Day Twenty-seven - Kekerengu - Waipapa Bay

Your new blog writers Simon and Patrick here again. Today got off to a rip snorter of a day when we bogged the 6x3m mobile billboard trailer. Thanks to the local publican who allowed us to use their four wheel drive truck to tow it out. We might add this is the second time we have got something bogged!!

Today was the start of the walk entering the beautiful Kaikoura Coast. Driving along the coast behind Cairnsy doing six km an hour is not as bad as it seems as long as your keeping a keen eye on the waterfront view and the snow capped mountains and not on the heels of the boss.

Today was a bit of a hard day due to running out of our sponsored water. That wasn’t the only thing we were running out of… PETROL! Our sponsorship with Shell seemed to be running a little dry due to no many service stations down the east coast but not to worry… Shell’s new V POWER petrol has kept our Hyundai support vehicles moving forward!!

As Simon and I travelled forward of the pack and made sure everyone’s luggage was in their rooms for when they arrive at our accommodation for the next 3 nights in Kaikoura we were devastated to find out that the team were taking a nice break at the end of the day eating Crayfish and Paua at a sea side eatery. This day will be stored in the memory bank… not happy!!!

Tomorrow see’s the team walk from Waipapa Bay into the beautiful town of Kaikoura. Tonight we are going down to Adelphies to watch the test between Australia and the All Blacks. Hopefully it will be a cracker of a game.

Until tomorrow, stay classy New Zealand.
