Day Thirty-two - Greta Valley to Amberley
Good evening everyone! Today wasn’t the best day for Cairnsy as he wasn’t feeling himself today. All the support vehicles met on the outskirts of Christchurch to convoy out to the start point at the Greta Valley Pub. For some of the volunteers who live in Christchurch it has been great for them to sleep in their own beds again.
The morning started off quite slow with Cairnsy still feeling under the weather. Today Cairnsy’s feet were playing up on him a little which required him to stop a number of times to change shoes, socks and tape. It was another long grueling day as the rain began to pour down and linger for the rest of the day but Cairnsy charged on and completed the day without a problem. Our Mr. Consistent (David Craig) once again stuck the day out with Chris and has really cemented his spot at Cairnsy’s right hand man!
Selwyn Bain is taking us to his favourite spot in Christchurch tonight. It is a place called “The Craic” which apparently serves up a tremendous feed and great hospitality so we are looking forward to that.
With National Nude Day coming up tomorrow everyone is a little suspicious on what may turn up at the start line and what we might encounter along the way. Doully from The Rock FM is apparently meeting us in Roge’s shorts and Lea’s Bra. It should make for an interesting day.
Until tomorrow,
PJ & SW
