Day Twenty-four - Blenheim to Seddon

We have been really lucky so far with the weather, however this morning in what is known as the sunniest place in NZ…we had a morning down pour to see us out of Blenheim.

I had my toughest morning yet today as I woke up and was almost unable to put my left foot into my shoe. We quickly got in touch with one of the local sports doctors in town and after having a look at it, he prescribed an antibiotic as I had a seriously infected little toe.

Once warmed up (and my toes wrapped up) I was on my way again and managed to get through to day. The Mayor of Blenheim Alistair Sowman joined me as we walked through the town with several people come out and walk a few kilometres with me today. We even got the opportunity to walk down the main one way street the wrong way!! Thanks Blenheim.

We had a big climb today over the Dashwood pass….of which we were glad to reach the top of! From there is was a nice stroll into the town of Seddon where we finished off at the local pub.

We are off to The Grove Tavern tonight for a quick drink before we are being hosted by my cousins David and Debbie Craig. Looking forward to a home cooked meal…a big thank you to the Craig’s for having us all in!
